Lessons are taught one-to-one in my room with a view (see the top of the page). Gentle hands-on work is combined with verbal instruction. Overly tense muscles and joints are encouraged to let go, leaving you feeling calm and relaxed, whilst also alert and in control.
Part of the time you will be lying down in the classic semi-supine position which allows the back full support and relief. (Link to video). Once you've learned how to do this, it's something you can easily practice on your own.
We'll also look at everyday activities that we do all the time - such as sitting, standing, walking, talking, bending etc - so that you can learn how to perform them easily and effortlessly.
We're working to restore a sense of freedom through your spine which then facilitates release in the rest of your body. When your deep postural reflexes work more freely the rest of the musculature is enabled to work efficiently and effortlessly.
During a short course of lessons you will become more self-aware and your co-ordination and balance will improve. You'll feel less stressed and more in control. Lessons last approximately 45 minutes and cost £40 (concessionary rates are available).
